| I’ve opened my shop in the Hancock area in 2001 to fill a growing need in the small engine repair business. We are a family owned and operated business. Like most folks, I try to save some money when possible, especially in today’s difficult economy. I encourage people to take care of their power equipment the best they can. Annual maintenance on your equipment will help it last longer but, when things do break and no longer work properly that’ s where I come in. It’s generally much cheaper to do need repairs on your current lawnmower than it would be to buy a new model. A new self propelled model mower can cost you $300 and up. If your old mower is mechanically sound and just needs a general servicing, it can be usually done for $40-$80 depending on what’s needed. This will give your current mower that “like new” performance and many more potential years of service at a fraction of the cost of a new model. I’ve literally seen people set 2 year old mowers out on the curb for the garbage man to pick-up. A lawn mower is a well crafted piece of equipment that lends itself well to repairs. It is not a disposable item to be discarded when it no longer runs correctly. This is not only a waste of money, but it sends things to the landfill before their time. Think of me as a power equipment recycler! I work on most Tecumseh, Briggs & Stratton, Kohler and Honda engines. Theses top quality manufactures power many of the residential and commercial equipment you’ll typically use today. We are factory trained which is what you look for in a repair shop, because in todays ever changing market, their are yearly updates to meet emissions and product improvements. If your lawnmower, garden tiller, snow thrower, generator, leaf blower, string trimmer, chainsaw or just about anything gasoline powered needs work, give me a call. Drop off your equipment and I will do a thorough inspection. I will contact you with an estimate of the repair cost. Some of the repair work I do is oil changes, blade/chain sharpening or replacement, belt replacement, tune-ups, carburetor rebuilding or just about anything related to small engine repair. I mostly work on 4 cycle engines, but do make repairs on higher end 2 cycles engines. Many of today’s 2 cycle gas trimmers found at discount stores do not lend themselves to serious engine repairs, as they are typically built as a throw away item. They can be repaired but the repairs usually will approach or exceed the cost of a new unit. So when you need repairs or just general maintenance give us a call. Doesn't matter where you bought it we will work on it. Smith's Repair 74 Walker Road Hancock, NY 13783 (607) 637-4549 email jays@pronetisp.net Pickup and delivery also available |
